Power Structure™ is the first story development environment designed for writers who aren't in search of an electronic muse, but who have a story that they want to tell, and who simply want a better "place" to do it. Instantly jump from looking at the smallest detail of your story to the big picture with the click of a mouse. Graphically track conflicts, subplots, characters and themes so you never lose track of what you set out to do and what you've accomplished.
Power Structure takes your story, and gives you room to run with it. Itallows you to go into the "Terminology" area and define your story theway you want. If you hate the word "hero," change it to"protagonist." If you hate the word "protagonist,"change it to "main character." Once you change it in the"Terminology" arena, it will remain changed throughout the rest of theprogram.
This way, if you enjoy theDramatica terms, your program will reflect that, or if you're a Truby believer, this will work it for you that way. When you think about it, that's prettyimpressive. It allows Power Structure to be customized for Dramatica people, Truby people, and any other method out there. When you write, you can use"floors," as in a building as a metaphor for your story. Most projects are"three-story" buildings. Power Structure allows you to go to the First Floor of your novel, the Second Floor, or the Third Floor. This allows you to develop the story that way you feel most comfortable, without having to learn any new terminology.) You can literally customize thisprogram any way that you sees fit.
Power Structure excels in the "Conflict" department. Each sceneallows you to define where the conflict is, how much tension the conflictcreatures, and whether or not the conflict is resolved. You can thenswitch over to the "Conflict Overview" area and see your conflictscharted out on a graph, so that low points can easily be spotted and dealt with.
Power Structure allows you to send someone off scene, and keep track of them by using the "Must Have" feature. That way, when "Eddie" is sent away for a few days, you can place a "Must Have" noteto yourself that reminds you that "Eddie" has to be accounted for in some way. You can then place that note in a little box that can be checked off when "Eddie" is accounted for. This feature also works wonderfully with endings. Ifyou write your ending first , you can have several "Must Have" points available to remind you to get to thatending. In this way, Power Structure assists you, rather than restrictsyou.
With Power Structure™ there are no complicated forms to fill out, no new theories of story or arcane terminology to learn. Instead, it conforms to you, its nine unique story views giving you a Playground of the Mind™ where you can explore, develop and yes, even structure, the best writing of your career.
